Roots, Routes and Resonance is the culmination of a very special creative project developed with brain injury survivors attending our Hackney Day Service, made possible through generous funding from the Hackney Council Cultures of Hackney grant programme.
Over the past few months, members have explored the histories, influences and lasting impact of Black music and culture through creative workshops, music sessions and visits from inspiring guest artists and musicians.
The event will showcase what participants have learned, created and celebrated together, bringing people together through music, storytelling, creativity and shared experiences.
What to expect:
- Drumming workshop
- Fashion showcase
- Singing and music-making
- Storytelling, chats and shared experiences
- Artwork by Submit to Love Studios artists
- Dancing and celebration
- Saltfish fritters and sorrel
Whether you’re passionate about music, interested in local culture, or simply looking for a welcoming community event, all are welcome.🎶✨
